Custom Interface (ASP.Net (C#), SQL Server, MSAccess)
A custom interface for charging Credit Cards , encrypting details securely and posting transactions to a third party custom financial system (and eventually to their accounting system). Prior to this project, the data was entered twice – in two different systems.
Database optimisation (SQL Server)
A daily service was timing out because the database scripts were not optimised. The jobs were taking 3 hours. After successful optimisation, the jobs now take 9 minutes. This is a 95% improvement!
Electronic Data Interface (.NetII, XML, Visual Basic, Crystal Reports)
Case 1. Data entry of online orders into an accounting system was taking 1½ to 2 hours a day. Now, with one click, all orders are seamlessly imported in seconds.
Case 2. Prior to our involvement, the system was initially written in VB6 / VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to export data from SQL Server to flat file, for export to another database. To improve performance, we re-developed the engine using XML technologies. The performance improved by 98% (e.g. 10 minutes reduces to 10 seconds), and new functionality was added to be able to report and export in XML and CSV (Comma Separated Values) formats.
